About the project
According to the world population clock approximately 360 470 people are born every day, while 150 688 pass away. On February 26, 2006, the world welcomed its 6.5 billionth citizen. OOH predicts that there will be well over 9 billion people on Earth in 2050.
In every language on the planet there are words for namesake, coeval, etc. all assuming the same meaning – same or alike, as in the same name, same year of birth, same age. Very rarely, if ever, do we come across a word meaning being born on the same day. In the Russian language, the appropriate word would be "содневка", while in English we can use such words as “eventsake” or, “bornsake”.
We found the following in wikipedia: "In probability theory, the birthday problem, or birthday paradox pertains to the probability that in a set of randomly chosen people some pair of them will have the same birthday. In a group of 23 (or more) randomly chosen people, there is more than 50% probability that some pair of them will both have been born on the same day. For 57 or more people, the probability is more than 99%, and it reaches 100% when the number of people reaches 367 (there are a maximum of 366 possible birthdays). The mathematics behind this problem leads to a well-known cryptographic attack called the birthday attack". It would be very interesting to gather at least some of these representatives of the human race in a virtual setting, those born on the same day, and let them exchange personal information, talk about political and economic events, discuss various relevant issues, and see how their responses vary with each day on which they were born on. (Luckily, the Internet allows for communication and exchange of information from virtually any point on the planet).
If you decide to take a part in this project, you will be able to compare yourself to people you might have never met, but with whom you share one thing– your birthday. You will have a chance to familiarize yourself with a virtual mega-personality, one based on a continual flow of sociological and psychological information gathered from a strategic analysis of votes cast by each member of the website who shares the same birth date as you. If you feel that yes, you are interested in connecting, sharing and becoming friends with the people you meet, then this site is for you.
When registering, please enter your nickname, gender, date of birth, and email. Please make sure to enter your real gender and date of birth, as this is crucial to the success of this project. Your votes on this website as well as their results will never be tracked down to you. All information (besides your vitals such as username, date of birth, etc.) is completely anonymous and will never be associated with you personally. All other information and/or opinion can be entered later at your convenience if you feel comfortable with sharing it. It is very likely that through comparison and contrast you will be able to discover new things about yourself, some you never even thought possible.
Were you lucky enough to bring a new life into this world recently? Please register your child on this website. Tell us about him/her in your own words. How are they doing, what are their interests, do they prefer peanut butter, jelly or both! As the child is growing up, they will be amazed at their progress through the years and will only be thankful for the time you spent making a virtual journey of their life so far.
In the end, only registered users will be able to see the results of surveys and questionnaires, forums, votes, report tables, charts and various other “VIP” sections, so please take the time to register. You will find it well worth your while to do so.
From founders of the project
Thanks to an interesting twist of fate, we are privileged enough to live in an era of turbulent information age. Never before in the history of mankind have we been given a chance to study, analyze and assess our importance in this world with such great detail.
Human imagination and thirst for knowledge have no limits, therefore, the intellectual potential of this project has no boundaries.
A defining quality of this project that sets it apart from other internet-based communities is that we are not trying to collect personal information or make publicly viewed lists of all registered members. Every bit of information you submit is entirely confidential and is only available for others to view as a part of an overall statistic, graph or chart. No personal information will ever be given out, transferred or sold to any third party. You are as anonymous on this site as you want to be, making it a very relaxing and enjoying experience.
Given the incredibly vast amount of human preferences, activities and ideas, as well as the mind-boggling size of this project, we are always in need of artistic, hardworking individuals who can manage the site, analyze gathered data, moderate open discussions, and who are committed to making this website reach its true potential.
If you truly wish to help and think that you are up for the task, please put forth your suggestions or ideas in the Administration-Offers Forum.
